HAMILTON, Vera Warren

Mrs. Vera M. Hamilton, 73, Covington, died at 6 a.m. Friday, November 4, at her residence.
  She was born May 14, 1910 in Whitley County, Indiana, the daughter of Ivan and Amanda Rupley Warren. On August 8, 1941, she married Ray B. Hamilton in Fort Wayne, who survives.

  She had been a resident of Covington since 1954 and formerly lived in Celina, Illinois and Fort Wayne, Indiana. She resided in the winter in Tampa, Florida. She had been employed by General Electric in Fort Wayne and Faith Children’s Home in Tampa. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Danville, Illinois.

  Other survivors include a foster son, Merle Warren of Fort Wayne; a daughter, Mrs. Phillip Dewlen of RR 1, Covington; a brother of Warsaw; four sisters, Mrs. Fay Smith of Akron, Ohio, Fern Swick of Claypool, Indiana, Doris Phillips and Letha Nees, both of Sebring, Florida; and four grandchildren.

  Services were conducted Monday at Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home in Covington with Rev. Joe Heimerichous officiating. Burial was in Mount Hope Cemetery. The family requested that any memorials be in the form of contributions to Faith Children’s Home. – thanks to S
